A Dating Niche for All

Blur is a new site I just discovered that has interesting articles about a plethora (I love that word) of subjects. One article I discovered in their lifestyle section, Wanted: Special Interest Relationship, Or Not is about dating sites that target specific ethnic groups, cultures or religious affiliations.

Los Angeles-based Spark Networks owns more than 30 online communities, including JDate, BlackSingles and ChristianMingle, which primarily target specific religious, ethnic and other special interest groups. According to the company’s spokesperson, Gail Laguna, tailored sites provide Internet daters a better shot at finding a common ground and a lasting connection than more mainstream choices like Match or e-harmony. “They attract serious daters, people looking for long-term relationships. Common values, culture and beliefs are important factors when determining the success of a long-term relationship, and communities for likeminded singles help singles find others that share their similar values and beliefs,” she says.

How to Know When a Man is Interested

The following post was guest blogged by Bill G. of Web Personals Online – an online dating and personals site that provides advice about using online personals effectively and successfully.

Is He Really Interested?

Women who use online personals have a number of hurdles to overcome to determine whether the responses they are receiving are from genuinely interested parties or from individuals who may not be as interested as they are in pursuing a relationship.

Checkup Calls and Code Words

When you go out with a guy you’ve met on an online dating site, how do you ensure that you don’t get caught in a really bad situation with no easy way out? Don’t let this fear prevent you from dating; instead, take precautions. Let me explain how to do it.

Years ago, before the days of meeting guys from online sites, I went out with a guy I had met casually, ignoring the little voice in my head, aka intuition or a gut feeling, that kept saying Don’t Do It!

Chapter 3: Review of a First Date

Wow, how time flies! If you read my last post (over a week ago), you may be wondering if CL murdered me or something.

No, nothing so dramatic. It was a nice date…we had some things in common, so there was plenty to talk about. No sparks flying, but I wasn’t repelled either.

If he had called, I would have gone out with him again to see if anything was there, but he didn’t call. It makes me wonder what guys are looking for. He seemed attracted to me, seemed to have a good time, and in fact when we parted said we’d definitely do dinner again. Then nada.
