Meeting Men on eHarmony

First, I have to say I haven’t used eHarmony for over a year, and there may have been some changes made. For one, I know they let you skip over some of the questions now and meet sooner.

One of the most noticeable things about eHarmony, especially for women in their 40′s and 50′s, is that men get hundreds of matches, while most women only get a few. The criteria I set out seemed to be pretty much ignored. The guys I was matched with weren’t at all attractive to me, physically or in their profiles and answers.

I met two men from eHarmony. The first one was charming for the couple of weeks we talked on the phone, but as soon as I met him in person I realized he was a total control freak, to the point of being scary.

The second was a man I dated for 7 months, but his controlling nature not only emerged after a couple of months but continually worsened until I realized I needed to get out of the relationship.

My theory is that because I am an easy-going, forgiving person, eHarmony matched me with domineering men. As a result, I have no desire to go back to that dating service.
